Eight Football Athletes Using GMTM To Find Opportunities To Play

There doesn't seem to be a clear start and finish to the football season anymore.

In today’s day and age, recruiting happens at a very high pace. One of the most important pieces of being recruited is exposure to collegiate coaches, or scouts for pro level sports. Here at GMTM, the main objective is to provide a space for athletes to gain the exposure they need to be recruited by more college coaches or scouts at the pro and Olympic level.

Zane Bostick - West Cabarrus High School

Zane Bostick is a 6’2” 225 pound defensive end, who is set to graduate in 2025 from West Cabarrus High School in North Carolina. In addition to his defensive end duties, he also plays offensive tackle, guard and tight end.

While West Cabarrus has not been having the best season, Zane has been putting up some solid numbers on the defensive side of the ball. Currently, he has ten solo tackles, fifteen total tackles, one fumble recovery, and one pass deflection. His best game of the season was against A.L. Brown, where he posted three solo tackles, four total tackles, and the fumble recovery in the 54 - 7 loss.

He is a VTO Top 5 performer and a 2022 VTO Sports All-American. VTO is a national high school football showcase that host regional events throughout the offseason.

In the classroom, Zane currently holds a strong 3.0 GPA, but as a sophomore has yet to be really recruited by any colleges. With his size and explosive speed however, he is bound to be heavily recruited with a strong junior and senior year.

Jamie Lock - Mississippi Panthers (WNFC)

Jamie Lock is the starting safety for the Mississippi Panthers. The Panthers are one of the 17 teams competing in the full-tackle professional Women’s National Football Conference (WNFC).

Jamie has absolutely no problem coming down to fill run responsibilities from the safety position, and has more than enough power to wreak havoc in the secondary. A majority of Jamie’s film is laden with powerful, perfect form tackles and hits, along with an interception and a few pass break ups.

While Jamie enjoys competing at a high level, she also wants to find sponsorship in order to help promote women in football. Jamie is one of the many exciting players in the WNFC, and the conference is quickly starting to grow.

Mekhi Wharton - Goretti High School

Mekhi Wharton is a 6’5 220 pound junior for Neumann & Goretti High School, class of 2024. Mekhi previously played for Archbishop Wood High School in 2019, but recently transferred for his junior year.

Given his stature, it is unsurprising to know that Mekhi has a big arm with excellent arm speed, and astounding accuracy. Mekhi also has no problem moving efficiently in the pocket while keeping his eyes downfield for an open receiver. He also excels at running the ball, whether it be through the option, scrambling, or simply a designed quarterback run.

As of now, Mekhi does not have any stats posted for his Junior year, but based on his game film, he is going to be putting up astounding numbers by the end of the year. Given his impressive size, speed, and decision making, Mekhi is going to be heavily recruited during his junior and senior years.

Christie Sanon - Coral Glades High School

Christie Sanon is a senior who competes in track and field and flag football at Coral Glades High School in Coral Springs, Florida. In 2022, Christie was on the 4x1 relay team her junior year, which placed third in the Walter Dix Invitational.

Christie is looking to gain exposure for both flag football and track and field in her upcoming senior year. Her ultimate goal is to compete for the USA football National Team in flag football.

Colby Leisen - Truett McConnell University

Colby Leisen runs track and field at Truett McConnell University in Georgia. Colby was a multi-sport athlete growing up excelling at cross country, basketball, flag football, and track and field throughout his high school career.

He also has an interesting upbringing as he lived in Germany for a majority of his life, but did spend time in Texas for his 3rd and 9th grade years of school. Track and field is obviously his main sport as he plays it on a collegiate level where he competes in the 200, 400, and the long jump primarily.

Given his background as a multi-sport athlete, Colby is looking to expand his horizon athletically and can compete in many different sports.  Ultimately, Colby is looking to join the USA flag football team and firmly believes that his background and skill set can be a very good asset for the team both skill wise and for team chemistry.

Brian Riggins - Blazers Track Club

Brian Riggins is a third grade football and track athlete. While he is a young runner, Brian already has some exposure and impressive experience running for the Blazers Track club in the summer of 2022.

While competing at the AAU Jr Olympic, his team won a medal competing in the 4x1. Aside from his competition in track and field, he also plays for the Thunderbirds Pee Wee football team where he excels at running back, no surprise there given his breakaway speed!

Brian has the uncanny ability for his age to break in and out of cuts quickly while finding another burst of speed that opposing teams just can’t match. He has a team high 12 rushing touchdowns, with a few impressive 3 touchdown games, and two game winning touchdowns as well.

Austin Conrad - Rice University

Austin Conrad is a dual sport athlete who competed at the division I level at Rice University. Austin played on the special teams and wide receiver, and ran in the 100m (PR of 11.03), 200m (PR of 22.32), and the 60m (PR of 6.9) for track and field. Austin excelled in both sports, but placed 20th at the C-USA for the 100 and placed 13th at the C-USA 200 back in 2021.

Austin is looking to continue his athletic career by competing for flag football teams or continuing his track and field career. Austin would be able to play middle linebacker, wide receiver, or center for the flag football teams, and has experience in three major events for track and field.

Kyron Burroughs - Pleasant Grove High School

Kyron Burroughs is a 5’8” 160 pound running back for the Pleasant Grove football ball team in Alabama. He is currently a senior, set to graduate in 2023.

Kyron is known for his speed on the football field as he runs an impressive 4.48 40 yard dash which translates to impressive breakaway speed, and the ability to make cuts on a dime making it nearly impossible to bring down in the open field.

While he is primarily a running back, he also spends time in the slot catching bubble screens and running routes, and also is a returner on the special teams. His 2021 season as a junior warranted 25 touches for 600 yards - talk about efficient - and 2 touchdowns, on a team that finished as the Alabama 5A State runner up.

Kyron’s main goal is to simply be noticed by college coaches as the astounding athlete he is, and to be recruited to play collegiate football.

The compiled list of athletes in this article all present an impressive athletic career in a variety of ages and sports. Whether it be a young third grader looking to improve his skills or a pro level athlete looking for sponsors to grow a sport, it is important to gain exposure in the athletic world.

The more positive exposure a person has, the better their chances are of being recruited or gaining sponsorship. Here at GMTM, our main objective is to get you the exposure you need. If you are an athlete that is looking to gain exposure, create a profile and participate in GMTM’s Virtual Events.
