NXGN Dallas Recap: Four Recruits From Texas and Oklahoma Who Impressed Us

The offseason camp circuit is in full swing and top high school football talent is traveling around their region and beyond to gain exposure and attention from scouts. One of the biggest camp circuits in football recruiting, NXGN, moved through the Southeast in April and hundreds of the area's top recruits attended multiple regionals.

Each athlete showed up to polish their skills against the best offensive and defensive players across the line of scrimmage, but each was hoping to leave with one thing in hand... and invite to NXGN's biggest event, The SHOW.

At the NXGN Dallas Regional on April 2nd, a huge crop of talent from the 2023 and 2024 classes showed up to be recognized as the best emerging talent in the area. Regardless of how the next few months go following the event, we wanted to shout out six players who got us excited after the the lights went out at Mansfield High School.

Below are some of exciting names we are sure to be hearing from again this summer before the 2022 offseason is over:

Christian Heard - OL @ Hebron High School | TX

Few position matchups are as entertaining at a NXGN Regional than when the big boys go head to head at the line of scrimmage. The Offensive line works to gain position and leverage while the top defensive linemen do whatever they can (swim, swat, spin, etc.) to get an edge and tag the quarterback.

Christian Heard, a 306-pound, 6'5" offensive tackle Hebron HS outside of Dallas, has a pretty easy time no matter who is lined up across from him. At the NXGN Dallas Regional, Heard faced off against some of the top defensive line recruits in his state, and did more than hold his ground.

Time will tell if his performance at NXGN Dallas will yield some early interest from college football coaches. But with a huge wingspan and a work ethic that outpaces other recruits in the class of 2023, it's obvious we'll be seeing more from Christian Heard soon.

Christian Fosbenner - HB/TE @ Byron P. Steele High School | TX

An all-around athlete who will play anywhere on the field, Christian Fosbenner from Cibolo is the embodiment of what it means to play high school football in Texas. The 190-pound sophomore prefers to be a part of the offense, though, and showed what he can do with his hands and his feet while running routes at NXGN Dallas.

The Halfback/Tight-End has a long time until he'll have a chance to be on a college field, but the good news is the stadium he finds himself in could be getting bigger and bigger as he continues to shine in the 2022 camp circuit.

Michael Momoh - DB/RB @ Allen High School | TX

A class of 2023 defensive back and running back with an eye for the ball, "Mike" Momoh turned more than a few heads at the NXGN Dallas Regional. And kept on doing so when he shared some clips of his matchups on social media.

Taj Walker - WR @ Grand Prairie | TX

While not every position got the same love from the cameras at NXGN Dallas, the wide receivers and quarterbacks were left with a lot to show. One wideout in particular, Taj Walker, made the most of the NXGN Dallas Film Download portal on GMTM.
