The title of "Strongest High School Athlete In America" has been decided.
This fall, High school athletes from every state and weight class were invited to participate in High School Throwdown presented by Caffeine & Kilos, a virtual event on GMTM. The free virtual event allowed athletes - ages 13 to 18 of any weight class - to see how they measure up against their peers in the weight room.
With ten different weight classes and prizes for each winner on the line, participants uploaded videos of three lifts that are used in Olympic competition. The lifts included: the Bench Press, the Back Squat, and a Full or Power Clean. Participants were also asked to record an introductory video sharing their story.
Each video from competitors around the nation were broken down by USA Weightlifting coaches and the best of the best were honored this week with the title "Strongest High School Athlete in America".
