Volleyball Canada will be hosting the Women’s NextGen Program this summer at the National Training Centre in Richmond, BC. Training for this program will commence on May 24 and will provide identified athletes with a full-time training environment that focuses on technical and tactical development in line with our Senior A team. Athletes will have access to a full coaching staff and integrated support team to guide their development and growth as a high-performance athlete. Potential competition opportunities will include the U23 Pan Am Cup in Dominican Republic from July 17-23(those born in 2001 or later), Pan Am Cup in Puerto Rico from August 4-13 and Pan Am Final Six in the Dominican from October 7-16. In addition to these competitions we have also arranged an exhibition series June 12-24 against Saint Mary's College (WCC, NCAA Div 1) at our centre in Richmond. The first step is a virtual selection process on the GMTM platform. Athletes will be prompted to submit basic physical testing data, a highlights video and full game/set footage which will be reviewed by the selection committee. From there, 30-40 athletes will be invited to an in-person trial April 29th-May 3rd at the Richmond Olympic Oval. The cost of the in-person trial will be $350. Accommodation during the tryout is the responsibility of the athlete. Ce programme débutera le 24er mai et permettre aux athlètes sélectionnées de s’entrainer dans un contexte mettant l’emphase sur le développement technico-tactique. Toutes les athlètes auront accès au personnel d’entraineurs ainsi qu’au personnel médical et scientifique de Volleyball Canada. Les possibilities de concurrence potentielles comprennent, la Coupe panaméricaine U23 en République dominicaine du 17 au 23 juillet (pour ceux nés en 2001 ou après), la Coupe panaméricaine à Porto Rico du 4 au 13 août et le Final Six panaméricain en République dominicaine du 7 au 16 octobre. En plus de ces compétitions, nous avons également organisé une série d'expositions du 12 au 24 juin contre le St. Mary's College.
